Trail Creek Nursery,
Teton Valley's Garden Center since 1979
After studying horticulture at Colorado State University in the early 1970′s, Gary Paulson began landscaping west of Denver on the continental divide at 10,000 feet. He soon realized that there was a real need for acclimated plant material for severe sites. After a three year search, he and his wife, Liz, relocated to Teton Valley in 1979 with the idea of producing high altitude plants for the nursery trade.
Turning an abandoned dairy farm, at 6100 feet, into a viable nursery presented many challenges: but the Paulsons eventually began nursery sales in the spring of 1981. In the fall of 1999, the Paulsons moved the Trail Creek Nursery retail location to its present location bordering Highway 33.
The spring of 2003 brought more changes to the Nursery, the business was purchased by Jayson and Anne Calderwood with their partners Clint and Lori Calderwood. Jayson has worked for the Nursery since 1990 and has been the Landscape Foreman since 1998. Jayson has taken over the position as President while continuing to run the Landscape Division. Trail Creek Nursery continually strives to produce hardier plants for harsh mountain areas and have been blessed with continued growth and strong interest in our efforts.
